History
Born March 11, 1970 he has always been drawing something for someone. He spent most of his time in school drawing, and most of his teenage years were spent rendering photographic level pencil and ink illustrations. Born into an artistic family his father was a clothing designer, and mother a bridal seamstress. Art seemed to choose him.
He grew up in Hollywood California and eventually moved to Texas where he still resides. He has been illustrating on a computer for about 15 years. He began working as an Illustrator for a T-shirt company as a means to support his formal education. At Stephen F Austin he received his BFA in Painting and began work on his MFA, and in that process became an artist and professional Illustrator. He now only illustrates for a living.
His major influences growing up were Frank Frazetta, Coop, Mad, Cracked and CARtoons magazines. There are plenty more influences but too many to list. He has a vast collection of Illustration and Fine Art reference books. These and his formal training have helped him grow as an artist and have created the style you see in his work today. This education in art has created diversity and allowed him the opportunity to have such a large client base.
ART CAREER
He initially started his professional career as a realistic illustrator/painter. After a few years of Illustrating and painting murals he moved to strictly t-shirt cartoon illustration. He has done apparel designs and illustration for bands such as KISS (Japan Tour), Aerosmith, Billy Joel (Tour Logo for 2006 & 2007), Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osborn, John Lennon, Ted Nugent. Some of his other work has been for Budweiser and Adobe. In 2010 he was published in the Adobe CS4 WOW Book. He has also made presentations for the Adobe developers and has made an illustration workflow presentation at their headquarters in San Francisco.
He is currently owner of The Graphic Library and is an exclusive vector illustration contributor to iStockphoto and Getty Images. He also has an array of private clients in many different fields. A large portion of the private work is done for design houses and kept confidential. They have him design images such as brand logos and toys for events or future marketing ventures.
